Hoodie - Serger - 2 sessions

Temperatures are falling and there's nothing better than a cozy hoodie to throw on early in the morning or for a late afternoon stroll. Hone your serger sewing skills to create the perfect layering piece!

We suggest that you trace your pattern in advance if you are worried about finishing this project over two sessions. We’ll focus on cutting out the hoodie in the first session and then start the construction. Depending on if you choose a marsupial pocket, exposed seams, zip-front, or top stitching, this project can be as complicated as you want it to be.

Limited to 4 students (16 yrs of age or older); 2 students are required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.

• Level:  Intermediate. This is not the first time you have used a serger!
  
• We provide: studio space, tools, machines, serger thread, and expertise.
• You bring:  A copy of your hoodie pattern (patterns that we have made and recommend: Laurent Hoodie, Ziggy Zipper Hoodie (for experienced garment stitchers), Finlay Sweater, StyleArc's Fitroy, Chalk and Notch's Page Hoodie.), fabric you love and a heavyweight knit with at least 20% stretch and high recover (a return to its original width after being stretched) or ribbing knit for waistband, and cuffs of sweatshirt. If you are making a zipfront you'll need a separating zipper, if you like a drawstring around the hood you'll need that,too.
