This summer explore the art of sashiko stitches in our monthly Embroidery Club. We'll not only use existing samplers but also will create grids and learn useful Moyozashi (straight, curved and zigzag line) and Hitomezashi ("one-stitch") patterns, either in person or online. This workshop is for all skill levels so even if you've just taken Embroidery Basics, please join us!
Limited to 6 students (16 yrs of age or older); 2 students are required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.
- Level: Adventurous Beginner - you have some skill threading a needle.
- We provide: Sashiko Sampler, Sashiko Needles, a skein of sashiko thread, water soluble pen, small grid ruler, and expertise.
- You bring: Yourself and any special colors of sashiko thread. For some sessions you will need cotton or tightly woven linen fabric (at least 5” x 5”). This workshop will meet in the shop as well as be streamed online so you can attend however you feel most comfortable.
- Class length: 2 hours per session. The club will meet the second last Wednesdays of May, June, July, and August.
Class meets Wednesdays, May 28, June 25, July 30, and August 27 at 6 PM.
